開催目的

世界的な潮流となりつつある「リジェネレーション」の思想と実践を、日本ならではの文脈で理解し、実装し、国内外に発信するため、私たちは 「RegenerAction Japan」 を開催いたします。

近年、地球環境や社会環境を取り巻く課題は深刻化し、特に気候変動の影響は一層過酷さを増しています。こうした状況の中、国際社会では「サステナブル」にとどまらず、自然や社会を再生成し、より良い未来を創造する「リジェネレーション」という新たな概念が広がりつつあります。また、Beyond GDP や Well-Being への関心が高まる今、日本もこの潮流に積極的に関与し、ルール形成や実践においてリーダーシップを発揮すべきと考えています。

RegenerAction Japan は、リジェネラティブな社会の実現に向け、国内外の先進事例を学び、体感し、共に考える場です。本イベントを通じて、参加者が自らの解釈を深め、実践につなげるとともに、新たな取り組みがここから生まれることを目指します。さらに、世界有数の大都市である東京にリジェネレーションの思想を取り込み、都市と地域の新たなエコシステムを構築し、次世代の都市モデルを創出することを目指しています。

We are pleased to announce RegenerAction Japan―an event organized with the aim of understanding, implementing, and communicating the globally trending philosophy and practice of “regeneration” from a uniquely Japanese perspective both within Japan and internationally.

In recent years, challenges relating to the global and social environment have intensified, and the impacts of climate change have become increasingly severe. Against this backdrop, society has moved beyond the concept of "sustainability" on the international stage and begun turning to a new philosophy called "regeneration," which focuses on restoring nature and society to create a better future. Furthermore, with growing interest in topics like "Beyond GDP" and "well-being," we believe Japan can take a leadership role in this movement and proactively engage in its rule-making and implementation.

As part of our efforts to realize a regenerative society, RegenerAction Japan will feature leading case studies from both Japan and foreign countries as an opportunity to learn, experience, and reflect on and discuss their practices together. We aim for participants to deepen their own interpretations and reflect them in their practices, and for this event to act as a catalyst for new initiatives. Furthermore, we aspire to incorporate the philosophy of regeneration into Tokyo, one of the world's leading major cities, and create a new urban and regional ecosystem that becomes an urban model of the future.

リジェネレーション（Regeneration）とは、地球や社会、そして人々のウェルビーイングを同時に追求し、マルチステークホルダーに対して多元的な価値を生み出し続け、豊かな未来を創ることです。

サステイナブルとは、今の経済・社会の発展を続けながら、環境へのダメージを最小限に抑え、社会的・経済的繁栄を目指す持続可能なアプローチです。
リジェネレーションとは、サステイナブルよりも積極的なアプローチであり、単に持続可能性を維持するだけではなく、積極的に、環境や社会システムをより良い状態に再生すると同時に、文化や社会の繋がり、人々のウェルビーイングなど、多元的な価値を創出し、より豊かな未来を築くための包括的なアプローチです。

"Regeneration" refers to the integrated approach that restores and enhances of the well-being of the planet, society, and its people, while continuously creating diverse forms of value for a broad range of stakeholders to build an abundant future.

"Sustainability" is an approach aims to support economic and social development while minimizing environmental impact and long-term balance.
Compared to sustainability, regeneration is a more proactive and ambitious approach. It goes beyond simply aiming for long-term balance—instead, it actively works to restore and improve environmental and social systems while creating diverse forms of value for a wide range of stakeholders, including cultural/social connections and human well-being―all conscious efforts that help shape a richer future.

RegenerActionは、2021年にFuture Food Instituteによって開始された国際的なプログラムです。本プログラムは、政治・環境・人間性・社会・文化・経済の6つの重点分野における統合的な再生を目指し、参加者の主体的な関与と具体的な行動を促進することで、持続可能な社会の実現に資する取り組みの創出と拡大を目的としています。
これまで複数にわたりイタリア国内で開催されており、EUイタリア代表部との連携のもと、食糧・健康・生態系の相互関係に焦点を当てた議論が展開されてきました。アンカンファレンスという形式を採用し、参加者が自らの意思で議論に参加することで、世界的な課題に対する当事者意識を高める場となっています。その結果、リジェネラティブ農業をはじめとする具体的な取り組みが広がり、既存の活動者間の連携が促進されるとともに、新たな実践を志す人々の後押しにもつながっています。

最新の2025年開催では、ヨーロッパ域内にとどまらず、世界各国の多様なビジネス領域のリーダーが一堂に会し、Future Food Instituteの本部が所在するポリカにて、それぞれの活動を相互に接続しながら、今後の世界の方向性を示すための具体的なマイルストーンについて議論が行われました。

RegenerAction is an international program founded by the Future Food Institute in 2021. The goal of this program is to achieve integrated regeneration in six areas of intervention: political action, earth regeneration, human regeneration, social regeneration, cultural regeneration, and economic regeneration. Through promoting the active participation and in-depth initiatives by participants, we aim to create and expand initiatives that contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
RegenerAction has been held multiple times so far in Italy, and in collaboration with the EU Delegation in Italy, discussions have focused on the interconnections between food, health, and ecosystems. This Unconference encourages active, intentional dialogue among participants, creating a space that fosters a stronger sense of personal responsibility toward global issues. As a result, we’ve spread in-depth initiatives in areas such as regenerative agriculture, promoted collaboration among existing activists, and supported individuals aspiring to develop new practices.

At the most recent 2025 event, leaders from diverse business sectors—not only across Europe but from around the world—gathered in Pollica, home to the Future Food Institute. Participants connected and aligned their respective initiatives while engaging in discussions on concrete milestones to help shape the future direction of the world.
